| The presentation below was provided by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office to provide parents with helpful information for protecting their children online. Social media is a rapidly changing landscape, and this presentation is several years old, so some of the information here is out of date – but many of the sites are still popular. The presentation still provides a good overview of the types of sites you need to be aware of, and dangers you need to be looking out for when your child (or you) use social media. The presentation was also notable for showing us the deputies genuine concern for children in the community, and their desire to work with parents to protect them in these areas.
